We threw a surprised birthday party for our friend Lauren and since she's kind of betchy and always wears black and gold, that was the theme we dubbed the party. It was an amazing theme to work with because the decór came our really great.
We divvied up responsibilities to get everything for the night together and I was given the task of making some decorations. I kind of have a weird love for hanging decorations so that's pretty much what I made. Gotta love making a good 'ol hanging flag banner, so I cut out some triangles out of paper to look like flags, using different types of paper I had picked up. I also splashed some gold paint on a few.
I also made a gold disc curtain for the doorway. To make them I took a large piece of paper and spray painted the whole thing gold. Once it was dry, then I cut out all the circles individually. I taped them onto skinny pieces of string, and voila! I had a shimmering curtain that spruced up the doorway from the kitchen to the dining room.
Lastly, I made large hanging paper pom poms. I found an easy DIY online using just tissue paper and string.
The rest of the details were done by my fellow ladies throwing the surprise, and I'd say that by working together, we threw quite a glamorous and fun little shindig!
